Hi Amanda,

I hope Streak helps you! It definitely has helped me *a lot.* An additional trick is that if you are using both Streak and Lettermelater, you can use Lettermelater to foward your reminders in case you end up in a situation where your reminders end up sitting in your inbox. Now when I'm not dealing with a reminder immediately, I use lettermelater to snooze it. I used Streak to create Snippit shortcuts, and set it up so that all I have to do is type my shortcut of "3*" if I want to sleep a reminder or an entire email for 3 days. I also change the subject lines of the emails that I forward to myself as reminders, so that I know exactly what I need to do when the reminder shows up in my inbox.

Sorry if this comment is confusing, feel free to message me for clarification if you are interested.

Warmly,
Shannon

These are great tools! I have an overwhelming inbox, which gives me an unproductive attitude toward it, as in, if I can't finish it all, why even deal with it a little? But Streak might help with that.

I've started using the location-specific function in the Reminders app built into my iPhone. I can set an alarm to go off when I arrive at my house to "water the plants", or, when I'm leaving, "Don't forget homework!" When I have a work date with my friend, I can set it to remind me to give her some books when I reach the coffee shop. It's awesome!

This reminds me of a passage from Seneca:

I can give you a saying of your friend Epicurus and thus clear this letter of its obligation. "It is bothersome always to be beginning life." Or another, which will perhaps express the meaning better: "They live ill who are always beginning to live." You are right in asking why; the saying certainly stands in need of a commentary. It is because the life of such persons is always incomplete. But a man cannot stand prepared for the approach of death if he has just begun to live. We must make it our aim already to have lived long enough. No one deems that he has done so, if he is just on the point of planning his life. You need not think that there are few of this kind; practically everyone is of such a stamp. Some men, indeed, only begin to live when it is time for them to leave off living. And if this seems surpising to you, I shall add that which will surprise you still more: Some men have left off living before they have begun.

As a matter of fact, pretty much everything Seneca ever said about death is a gold mine in this regard, especially his essay, On the Shortness of Life.
